How to Make Money Clipping: Start From Zero, Real Numbers
You can make money clipping, but most clips earn little. Content Rewards, one of the most visible platforms, reports $14 million in payouts and 400,000+ creators. That works out to about $35 per person over its whole history. Keep that number in mind when you watch videos about $10,000 a month.
Below are the steps from zero and the numbers you can check.
How do you get paid to clip videos?
A brand or creator funds a campaign. You take the source video, make a short vertical clip, post it on your own account and get paid for every 1,000 verified views. You are paid because people watch your clip, not because you watch videos yourself. If the term is new, start with what clipping is.
How to start clipping from zero
- Connect an account. TikTok, Instagram or YouTube all work. Many campaigns have no follower requirement, though some set a floor such as 10,000. TikTok says follower count is not a direct factor in its recommendations. On Kadr you verify an account with a short code in its bio.
- Pick a campaign. Check the rate, the budget left, the languages, the minimum views and the cap per clip.
- Make a real edit. A strong moment, a hook in the first three seconds, subtitles, a vertical frame, your own cut. Our podcast walkthrough shows how. Plain copies lose reach.
- Mark it as advertising. A paid clip is an ad. Use the paid partnership label or a clear tag where the platform or the law requires it, and add the campaign tag.
- Submit the link right after posting. Kadr counts only views gained after submission, for 30 days. Anything the clip earned before that is unpaid.
- Wait for review. The brand approves the clip or rejects it with a written reason. If it stays silent for 48 hours, the clip is approved automatically.
- Withdraw. Earnings sit in a 7 day hold, then you can withdraw from $20. Payouts go out weekly.
Each step is covered in the guide for clippers.
How much money can you make clipping?
The math is simple: views divided by 1,000, times the rate. The typical rate on Kadr is $0.50 to $1.00, which gives this per clip:
| Paid views | At $0.50 | At $1.00 |
|---|---|---|
| 866 | $0.43 | $0.87 |
| 10,000 | $5 | $10 |
| 100,000 | $50 | $100 |
| 1,000,000 | $500 | $1,000 |
866 views is the median TikTok video in a viral.app sample. The average there is about 58,000, but rare hits create it: the top 1% of posts hold 77% of all views. You cannot plan around the average. A campaign may also set a cap per clip and a minimum view count.
Here is what real data shows:
- By our count on the Content Rewards board on November 4, 2026, the median was $31 per participant in a campaign and $6.62 per submitted clip.
- In seven campaigns with a public leaderboard, the top three clippers took 21% to 82% of payouts, with a median of 37%.
- In the visible part of the public payout table of one of the largest Russian-language clip programs, the median wallet earned $260 all time and the top 10% of wallets took 77% of the money. A wallet is not a person, but the shape is clear.
- One large marketplace claims more than 20 creators consistently earn over $10,000 a month. Against its claimed 460,000+ creators, that is about one person in 23,000.

What does your first payout take?
The minimum payout is $20. At $0.50 that is 40,000 paid views. At $1.00 it is 20,000.
Each withdrawal carries a transfer fee: $3 for USDT TRC20, $1 for Wise or Payoneer. From $20 you receive $17 or $19, and from $100 you receive $97 or $99, so small amounts are better saved up.
Keep the clip live during the hold, because deleting it cancels those earnings. Clippers pay their own taxes. Payouts are available in countries supported by our payment partners.
Why are the first weeks the weakest?
Clipping runs on volume. You cannot know in advance which clip will land, so one clip proves little. Bloomberg described a campaign in which 520 clippers made 11,000 videos, about 21 each. Plan for a series of attempts on different moments and judge the series.
Fake views will not speed this up. Bought views and bots end in a permanent ban, and unpaid earnings are voided. One large marketplace claims to have banned more than 20,000 creators for buying views.
Frequently asked questions
Is clipping still a legit way to make money in 2026?
Campaigns are running and paying, but only a small share of people earn real money. Treat it as uneven side income at best, and check a platform before you start.
Can you make money on YouTube Shorts?
There are two separate routes. YouTube monetization shares ad revenue, and Mediacube claims only $0.01 to $0.05 per 1,000 views for many channels. A campaign pays its own rate for views on your account, and you do not need YouTube monetization turned on for that.
Can you start clipping with no followers?
Yes. Campaigns pay for views on a specific clip, and many set no follower floor. A new account guarantees nothing, though: one clip may get almost no views and another may take off.
How much do clippers make?
A typical campaign participant earns single or double digits in dollars. A small share of people takes nearly all the money. See what clippers get paid per 1,000 views.
